Roser steps up to lead Winter Springs softball
By Kyle Hightower

Once upon a time, Winter Springs sophomore Christine Roser dabbled in trying to play other sports.
She tried basketball. Then vollyball. But none of them felt like her sport.
Then, when she was 11, she found softball.
“I just wasn’t very good at anything before softball,” she says now with a chuckle. “This one just suits me. And I guess I’m OK at it.”
Though it’s just two games into the this season, it would appear she is more than just OK.
Roser has been the anchor of her team during the first three games, pitching her way to two complete-game shutouts, while being one of her team’s most dominant hitters.
“She’s just been great for us,” Coach Mark Huaman said of Roser. “She has a great deal of talent that is just beginning to show itself.”
Though softball is her sport of choice, she doesn’t mind showing her affinity for the others as a member of the school’s Spirit Club.
